The Chum Salmon is found in the North Pacific area in Korea, Japan, Bering Sea and in North America from Alaska to San Diego. |

| Habitat |
Chum live in Salt Water and coastal streams.Inhabits. Fry travel in schools and stay close to shore for several months before separating and heading out to sea. Adult and juvenile chum will feed on small crustaceans, plankton, squid and small fish.
When returning to spawn they generally will not eat once they reach fresh water. The fish all die after spawning. |
| What do they Look Like? |
Large adults have steel-blue backs speckled with black, and sides of silver. Males will have black on the tips of their fins. When spawning, the back of males will turn dark olive-green to black, the sides will turn grayish-red with vertical stripes of green their bellies will be grey and some fins will have white tips. Females will appear similar to males but will have less clearly defined markings. |
