The Dimestore Fishermen wins prestigious “Sportsman of the Year” award at the 4th Annual Producer Appreciation Event held by The Sportsman Channel in Orlando, Florida at the House of Blues in January of 2007.

Canadian fishing program featuring Canadian destinations really makes a name for itself in the USA.
Calgary, Alberta – May 23, 2007 – Despite the fact The Dimestore Fishermen television fishing program has been the number one Canadian television fishing program broadcasting in the USA since 2004 leaving an indelible mark on the outdoor television industry in the USA, the show has reached an even new level of industry excellence. The Dimestore Fishermen television fishing program is proud to announce having won The Sportsman Channel's "2006 Sportsman/Producer of the Year" award at The Sportsman Channel's 4th Annual Producer Appreciation Event at the House of Blues as part of TSC's 2007 SHOT Show activities held in Orlando, Florida this year (2007). This is powerful when you consider that the show stood out among all other fishing and hunting programs. This award is very special because it was voted on by peers. The Dimestore Fishermen was also nominated for this award in 2005.

The Dimestore Fishermen is seen on nearly 55 TV stations weekly in the USA and airs in affiliation with many very prominent broadcasters and cable distributors in the United States.
Jim Hoey says he has always known the format for The Dimestore Fishermen had the potential to entertain a large market. "We've always made the USA our number one focus when building our programming. Canadians know how great Canada is. We want our friends south of the border to learn more about how great our nation really is. In 2007 we are scheduled to be in Atlantic Canada frequently. We will be at our 4th Annual Dimestore Challenge and at a number of other prominent events across Canada showcasing not only the amazing fishing opportunities but the communities, their culture and their unique diversity."
