The Dimestore Fishermen has successful attendance shoot in the City of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada April 2007.

01/05/2007

The Dimestore Fishermen attends Miramichi River and obtains great production footage of Atlantic Salmon.

Calgary, Alberta – May 01, 2007 – The Dimestore Fishermen television fishing program attended New Brunswick in association with the City of Miramichi in April of 2007 in order to obtain footage to create a feature episode of the program. During the attendance the guys had an opportunity to participate in a number of different activities including local media engagements, visiting points of interests in Miramichi and of course fishing the world renowned Miramichi River.

"There is no doubt that Atlantic Canada is a destination that our viewers have been requesting we visit. This trip to New Brunswick was a fantastic one. We met some of the kindest, most genuine people we have had the privilege to meet in our travels." said Jim Hoey, host and producer of the award winning half hour television fishing program. "Highlights included one of our hosts Chris David hooking and landing a 43 inch Atlantic Salmon. Locals told us a person might fish the river their whole life and never catch and land a fish that big. It was a trophy fish by anyone’s standards. It really was exciting to be a part of. Our crew caught a number of fish that exceeded 30 inches."

"During our stay our good friend, Jeff MacTavish who is Economic Development Officer for the City of Miramichi presented us with a classic fly referred to as the 'Miramichi Fly'. It was a great gesture of friendship and we would like to take this opportunity to thank him and the City and all her people for the very warm hospitality we received while on location." imparted Jim who wanted to offer his gratitude on behalf of the whole Dimestore team. "People like Jeff and the citizens of Miramichi make it possible for us to feature our great country for an international broadcast audience and we are so grateful for their contributions to our efforts."

The episode featuring Miramichi is projected to be post produced this year for airing in The Dimestore Fishermen's 9th season of broadcast.
